We use the Gantt chart extensively for resourcing. We have many projects / issues on the go and many time a day during scheduling we find ourselves looking for a quick way to view a single resource or user in the Gantt. Is there a quick way to do this or do we have to setup a filter for each of our 30 users?
you can use a single filter defining assignee = currentUser() so that each logged-in user can see her/his tasks on the Gantt-Chart or you have to set up a filter per user, indeed.
Alternatively, you can switch to resource planning mode: all tasks are ordered by assignee and are collapsed by default. So, you have to click on the focussed user and click on expand to watch her/his tasks. When ready, you should click on collapse to reduce to the initial overview. Do this using my Gantt-Gadget on your dashboard, you'll get an overview over all issues by default (multi-project view) or you can specify a filter or set of projects to limit the selected issues.
