Not able to generate any issue with Gantt Chart

Michelle Hwang April 8, 2013

We have hundreds of issue for the project but the Gantt-Chart was not able to show up any issues. We have used the methods online to generate planning dates for issues having no start/end dates, still no issues pop up after that. Do you know what we can do to make it work? Thank you.

Hi Michelle and Rich,

" Issues created in January show as being created in October of last year." as you have configured to start your project October 1st 2012. Regardless of their creation date, the first issue having no planning dates will be scheduled to begin at the project's start date. Others issues without planning dates will follow based on their estimated efforts in the sequence of their issue keys ascending.

Generally, you plan forward and not backwards. So, entering an issue today will not mean that it will start today, too.

What can you do? Use bulk-editing to easily delete the "wrong" planning dates based on mis-unterstanding, set the project start to the date of expected issue start date, click on "generate planning dates ..." again. Afterwards, you are free to set back the project start date to any date you want.

Frank

Hi Rich and Michelle,

did the issue "Atlassian Marketplace license: null" vanished, now?

did the issue "no issues pop up" vanished?

Based on Rich's comment above, please provide me with a screenshot of the project's summary (admin mode) displaying the sections "Gantt-Chart" and "Project Data".

Regards,
Frank

Hi Frank,

It's still showing "Atlassian Marketplace license: null". The no issue vanished but as Rich said, The chart is generating all the dates off. Here is the screen shot you requested.

Thank you.ed all the dates are off.

Ah, v2.2.2 expects UPM2.9.1 as indicated within its name.

Please download from my server at http://www.polscheit.de/plugins/jira/gantt-chart/gantt-2.3-JIRA5.2-JIRA6.0-UPM2.9.3.jar and use the "upload" button on JIRA's admin page "manage add-ons".

Does this work for you?

Regards,
Frank

Hi Frank,

Michelle and I work together. I downloaded the .jar above and installed it, but the problems persist. This issue was occuring with UPM2.9.1 yesterday as well. What is occuring now is that when a chart is genereated all of the dates are off. Issues created in January show as being created in October of last year. Also in order to even get those issues to populate we need to have a begin range of -100w which is odd because we have not had JIRA that long.

Please let us know the best steps to try next.

Thank You,

Rich

Hi Michelle,

Atlassian Marketplace license: null is not normal, I agree.
Please ensure, that you are running the system plugin "Atlassian Universal Plugin Manager" (UPM) v2.9.1 for compatibility reasons.

Frank

Hi Frank,

We are running the "Atlassian Universal Plugin Manager" v2.9.3 plugin already.

Thanks,

Michelle

Hi Michelle,

in order to help, I need some more information:

- what JIRA version are you using?
- what Gantt-Chart version are you using?

It's a configuration issue in your case as described above.

Regards,
Frank

Hi Frank,

Here is more info.

JIRA : 5.2.2

Gantt Chart Version: 2.2.2

Also at the configuration area, it shows the infoAtlassian Marketplace license: null. Not sure if this is suppose to be correct.

We also did re-index and generate the dates again. It is still not working.

Thank you.

Michelle
