Jira integration with GitLab

I am trying to find a solution for updating the GitLab changes like commit and merge request from developers with Jira kanban boards.

The idea is we need to create a Kanban board at  Jira with Todo,Progress and Done as the workflow.

so whenever we make a change such as commit or merge request at the GitHub master repo from our local repo,it has to update those changes at the Jira board as progress or complete(done).

I have set up Jira v6.4.7 on a centos 7 box and installed the agile module for 30 days evaluation license. At the Github I have selected Integration to Jira from setting menu for my project and entered web base URL as http://<local ip>:8080 and Web API URL as the same but still when ever I am trying to run git commit -m "The message" and git push origin <mybranch> from my local branch repo nothing has been updaed at the Jira issue board.

So please help me to find a solution for this,
