Jira Software users can't see the data in our dashboard gadgets

Deleted user November 28, 2018

The dashboard gadgets seem to be restricted even though the filters and dashboards have been made "logged in users" or even "public".   The dashboards are part of Jira Software and everyone we need to see the dashboard has a Jira Software license. We don't understand why all Jira Software users can't see the data in our dashboard gadgets. Kindly help us

Here are a few possible reasons:

  • filters and dashboards must be shared by user with Create Shared Objects global permission
  • different issue security levels
  • filters use currentUser() function

Saving your search as a filter

Managing shared dashboards

Hi

For further clarification, the problem is specifically with JIRA Service Desk issues & Dashboards.  We have enabled "browse" capability in Service Desk to our internal customers that have JIRA Software licenses.  We have created dashboards to show Service Desk metrics and such by each of our JIRA Software projects to track/report to management, but not all gadgets are visible to them.    For example,  Filter statistics and the two dimentional gadgets show properly, but Filter Results, pie chart and Custom Content that includes the Time to Resolution report does not display properly.  Currently these only show if you are part of the Service Desk Team.  These dashboards are great and since Dashboards are part of JIRA Software and we have given Browse capability in Service Desk, they should be able to view all gadgets.  It is a great way to show/communicate status, but we want to be able to have our project teams view them on their own and not via a service desk agent or administrator every time.

Thanks

Hey Ramesh,

the gadgets you mentioned should be okay.

Gadgets for Jira applications

Perhaps you configured the broken gadgets to use a project, try it with a correctly shared filter (test the results using Issue Navigator).

When you configure a gadget you can often choose Filter/Project:

Hi

We want to be able to display issues on a dashboard via the Filter Results gadget of all the Service Desk issues submitted by a particular organization.  A portion of the filter is shown and is valid and produces a list of issues via the issue navigator.

This is a valid filter, has been shared and displays issues and everyone can see the issues via the issue navigator.  However, the problem is with the dashboard/gadgets such as "filter results".  The same filter is used for the Two dimensional gadget (which displays properly) and the Filter Results (which does NOT display properly) which gives an error for anyone that is not part of the Service Desk team even though "browse" capability is enabled and works for the individual issues or issue navigator.  How can we get the "filter results" gadget to display properly for our Service Desk issues to our internal teams that have JIRA Software licenses.

Thanks
