JIRA TimeSheet Plugin v 2.3.4 email subject line

Steven Buehler June 12, 2012

Before we upgraded JIRA and the TimeSheet Plugin, the emails that it sent out had "[JIRA] Work logged:" on the Subject line. Now it does NOT have the "Work Logged:" in the subject. This makes it harder to filter and follow the Work Logged reports by conversation. Where can we put this back in at?

Yes, You did run into the gmail change. You did do the correct thing (ie modify the code).

Now, you can add your vote to either this issue or create a new one if you have a different solution if you feel strongly about getting this change to be configurable.

We were running 4.3.4 and are now on 5.0.5. Looks like the problem is in the following files.

/opt/atlassian/jira/atlassian-jira/WEB-INF/classes/templates/email/subject/issueworklogdeleted.vm

/opt/atlassian/jira/atlassian-jira/WEB-INF/classes/templates/email/subject/issueworklogged.vm

/opt/atlassian/jira/atlassian-jira/WEB-INF/classes/templates/email/subject/issueworklogupdated.vm

/opt/atlassian/jira/atlassian-jira/WEB-INF/classes/templates/email/subject/issueworkstarted.vm

/opt/atlassian/jira/atlassian-jira/WEB-INF/classes/templates/email/subject/issueworkstopped.vm

I edited them to read like the following which is the way they used to be in v4.3.4:

$eventTypeName: ($issue.key) $issue.summary

What was missing was the "$eventTypeName: "

Can this be put in an update so that people won't have to edit these files to go back to the way it really should be? I found the answer for this general problem at http://blogs.atlassian.com/2010/05/jira_41_email_notifications/

What versions were you running before? Atlassian made a choice to make things more compatible with gmail which messed things up for the rest of the email clients. I want to make sure that is the problem you are running into verses something else.
