Currently, if you want to trigger a rule based on a particular event occurring (e.g. Issue Updated), you are limited to the events that are displayed on the System -> Events page (including Custom Events).
However, there are a number of other events (e.g. VersionCreateEvent) that I would like to use to trigger an automation rule. Is there any way to currently tap into these events? If not, can I add that as an enhancement request?
Sorry no there is no way to tap into those other events. We do hope to support version created though in the coming future as part of our software integration story.
