Sometimes a developer writes the wrong jira-issue key in a comment of a git-commit, which results in a git commit linked to a wrong user story or bug.

As the git-comment is part of the commit-hash-tag, it is nearly impossilbe (or at least very costly and unwise) to change the wrong comment within git.

  • Is there at least a way to remove (unlink) the git-commit from the wrong jira-item?
(i.e. delete and blacklist the specific git-commit on the jira-side from the assinging index)

Hi Leonard,
We have a feature, which allows user to associate a commit with additional issues - see Git Notes documentation
Unfortunately now it's impossible to disassociate a commit with an issue. It's possible just in Git Plugin version for Cloud JIRA. But this is the kind of feature that we'll definitely do.
Please contact us at support@bigbrassband.com for any questions in the future.
