Is it possible to indent numbered headings?

I am using the numberedheadings macro but have received a request to indent the headings.

So, instead of this:

1. Heading 1

1.1 Heading 2

the request wants to see this:

1. Heading 1

1.1 Heading 2

Is this possible?

There has been a feature request for this, but we have decided not to build specific support for indenting or other styling features. Though you can achieve indenting by adding the following CSS to your Confluence stylesheet (see the feature request for more details);

.wiki-content h1 span.nh-number { margin-left: 0em; }
.wiki-content h2 span.nh-number { margin-left: 1em; }
.wiki-content h3 span.nh-number { margin-left: 2em; }
.wiki-content h4 span.nh-number { margin-left: 3em; }
.wiki-content h5 span.nh-number { margin-left: 4em; }
.wiki-content h6 span.nh-number { margin-left: 5em; }
