In Tempo Planner, how can I view ALL available resources, from every Tempo team?

Jim Toland July 16, 2018

We have been using Tempo (within JIRA) for a while now, and have created individual teams for time-sheet submissions and approvals.

We are now beginning to use the Planner, but so far I can only view the resources that are either a) part of the reporting team that I am included in, or b) part of my own reporting team. However, for overall departmental planning, our PM's would need to view ALL available resources, whether they report up through them, or not. Is there a way to achieve this, without disrupting our existing Tempo teams?

Thank you - JT

Hi Jim,

to give users access to view all resources in Tempo Planner they will need to have the "View Team Plans" permission for the existing teams. In case they should also have the option to create and / or approve plans, they will need the "Manage Team plans " permission.
Please take a look at https://tempo-io.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/TEMPO/pages/178290699/To+grant+view+team+plans+permissions  and https://tempo-io.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/TEMPO/pages/172294380/Getting+started+with+resource+planning for more information.

Hi Susanne-

The information on granting permissions was most helpful. Thank you. We were able to go into one of our Tempo teams and create a large Permission Group (100+ users) and select the permissions accordingly.

However, we have about 15 more teams that require the same Permission Group to be able to view and plan work. Is there an easy way to duplicate the Permission Group we already created, and apply it to the rest of our Tempo teams? The thought of having to recreate it each time from scratch (adding user by user) is daunting.

Thank you-

Jim

Hi Jim,

at the moment, it is only possible to add the users individually to the permission group, but we are investigating ways to improve this and any input from users is much appreciated.

Could you create a Feedback issue in our Tempo support for this (https://tempo-io.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/6) and add information about the problem you encounter so I can forward it to Product management.

Regards,
Susanne
