also is there an option to keep the copy of tests in old project also so that it can be tracked later on?

Hi,

This can be done from JIRA's Issue Navigator by:

1) Moving the tests from one project to another through the actions menu

2) Creating a search filter for the moved tests

3) Creating a test cycle in the new project and use the saved search filter to add the test to the cycle

Thanks Aleks,

Hi Sheetal,

You can transfer the testcases from one project to other using the options mentioned by Aleks.

Please note by moving the testcases you will loose the associated Executions scheduled and defects created for those executions. This execution data will not be recovered later. So, make sure you only move the test cases which are not scheduled/added to test cycles.

If you want to keep a copy of test cases in the old project, you have to use the Zephyr for JIRA Importer Utility to achieve this. For this you have to export the testcases along with test steps from Tests -> Search Tests page to an excel and then import into another project using the Importer Utility. Please go through the documentation for step by step process of importing.

Regards,

Zephyr Support.

So there is no way to use the functionality within JIRA to copy the test cases from one project to another project without doing the upload all over again?
