How to restrict changes in one project from effecting in another project

I create a project using Builtin Script Runner's "Copy Project" option.

This create new project B from project A and below structure got copied along with data:

  • All Schemes
  • Workflows
  • Roles
  • Custom fields
  • Version/s and Component/s

Project A is active project used in company and Project B is test project.

Now whenever I change "Workflows" or any of above settings in project B, the same is getting effected in project A.

Need help in avoiding this issue. I want changes to be limited to Project B only.

Copying the project means "use the same schemes as the other project". A project is nothing more than a collection of settings, most of which are "use this scheme to determine settings".

You need to set up separate schemes, and change one of the projects to use the new separate schemes. (Pretty much means "don't bother copying a project if you want it to use different schemes")

Thanks Nic for the info.
