How to resolve "java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver not found by com.onresolve.jira.groovy.groovyrunner" error

suchitk October 12, 2016

Hello,

We have upgraded JIRA version from 6.4.12 to JIRA 7.1.9.Now we are using 4.3.6 Script runner plugin version in JIRA version 7.1.9.

But When we run the existing groovy script on JIRA version 7.1.9 script throws

"java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver not found by com.onresolve.jira.groovy.groovyrunner" error in the log hence script is not working on JIRA version 7.1.9.

Can you please us to resolve the above error.

Thanks and Regards,

Suchit R Kharatmol

Hi Thanos,

Thanks for your response.

The link provided by you resolved the above error.By loading the driver class manually and creating the connection mentioned in the https://scriptrunner.adaptavist.com/4.3.10/jira/recipes/misc/connecting-to-databases.html link it get resolved. Now the script is working fine.

After upgrading JIRA files added to /opt/atlassian/your.jira.dir/lib/ are not automatically moved, so you need to copy the database class jar from your old install folder to your new one, stop JIRA and restart it again. This should now work as intended.
