How to extract values of a cascading field to 2 separate custom fields?

Hi All,

we use a cascading select field but from now we need to create weekly reports of our issues. The problem with the cascading field that we cannot make compound reports: I mean that we want to make a fiter according to the first level of the cascading field and not for the first level-second level search.

E.g.: we have first level countries and then on the second level towns. And we need two fields - Countries and Towns) - which extract the info from the cascading field. In order to be able to make a selection according to countries.

Can you please help? Any idea?

Thanks,
Rumi

Hm, this is a little bit of work:

1. Export the fields "issuekey" and your cascading field to excel

2. in excel you select the desired values in separate columns (country and town)

3. export into csv file

4. create two custom fields in JIRA (country and town)

3. use the csv-import-tool in JIRA and import your csv file mapping to the columns to the desired custom fields

-> That's it :-)
