How to delete an account in the Tempo account manager?

Merijn de Jonge January 17, 2015

Hi,

I have created a couple of accounts using tempo's account manager. Now I want to remove (i.e. delete) some of them. Unfortunately, I can't find a ""Delete" button in the account overview page or on the account details page.

Can anyone explain to me how I can delete a project in Tempo-timesheets?

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

Merijn de Jonge

If you go to Tempo > Accounts and click on the accounts, you can change the status of an Account to "Archived" or "Closed" under "Configuration" tab. I think you will need to Archive. I don't think there is an option to delete.

Thankfully (at least in Tempo Cloud) you can delete accounts, as long as they're not linked to any Jira issues... (https://tempo-io.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/THC/pages/172425460/Deleting+Accounts+-+Tempo+Cloud)

Hi

Deleting an account is currently not possible Accounts can however be archived (this applies to System Plugin: Tempo Accounts 1.x). Archiving an account will remove it from the accounts list.

To archive an account first produce the accounts list by choosing more under Accounts in the Tempo drop down. Then choose the account to be archived by clicking on the name. Choose configuration to the top left and select Links there under. Remove any project that is connected to the account, then choose Configure. The third line of configuring an account is Status. Choose Archive and then press Save. The account will be archived and will be removed from the accounts list and added to the Archived folder under Accounts (to the top left). From there it is possible to reopen the account if necessary.

Thanks for the explanation. Archiving it removes the account from the list but the account key remains allocated. This means that I can no longer create an account with that key, right? Or is there a way to also remove/change the key of the archived account?

I created a DEV account that was not global.  I later decided I need to make this gloabal, and could not since it already existed

You are correct, the key is still allocated as there might be worklogs in the past linked to this Account when using the "Account as worklog attribute". We do have an Improvement for this in our Tempo Accounts Project that you can follow, vote and comment on (https://tempoplugin.jira.com/browse/JTMAC-66).
