How to configure traceability matrix without test execution?

Hello,

I usually link bugs directly to Stories and this is the way I want to keep. We use Test Cases but we treat it as a help not a mandatory action.

To get traceability matrix that includes bugs I need to have:

Stories > Tests > Execution > Defects

And my question is: Is it possible to create Traceability like:

Story > Test > Defect, without execution?

This may be of use, our plugin allows you to link BDD (behaviour driven development) scenarios to user stories in Jira.  We've added a traceability matrix recently to our plugin which maps the user stories (or any issue) with the BDD scenarios.

So as per your flow it will cover:

Stories -> Tests -> Execution

We don't have the linkage to the defects however that is something that we can look at if requested.
