How to bulk change individual labels in a labels field?

A labels field can hold multiple labels. How can I do a bulk add or delete one label in the field?

It seems that the HP/Palm Jira Issue Move Enhancements Plugin does the job. But does it work with Jira 5.x?

According to the description page, it only works with

That plug-in does not work in our JIRA instance at 5.0.7. Attempting to bulk change with it enabled results in a java dump.

I want to bulk add a component (or version, or label) to a bunch of issues. This seems like it would very common operation, but now see no way to do it.
