Not sure I understand the question correctly. By default, the chart macro hides the data. Only if you specify to display the rendered data do you see the table data.

I am having the same problem. Currently evaluating the SQL for confluence plugin. I can use the before or after options for displaying rendered data. But if I choose the default value (which should hide the data) then the SQL-generated table continues to appear. Am I missing something in the definition of the SQL query etc?
(If I create a chart based on a manually entered table then the data is hidden as expected)

Hmm. I deleted my chart and recreated - problem went away! Sorry. Must have been some strange stuff in the wiki markup I had copied and pasted.
