How do I configure default groups when using this plugin?

When attempting to configure SAML Auth using addon-com.atlassian.plugins.authentication.atlassian-authentication-plugin, I am noticing the users that authenticate against this plugin don't have any default groups assigned to them. In order for this to work, I needed to configure an Active Directory connection for both ADs I'm working with. When I log in using the auth fallback, the user's default groups are set up as we expect. However, if a user has never logged in before uses ADFS to log in, it fails to put them in the default group as configured in AD. Am I missing where to configure this? Is there a way to do this?

Hi Robbie, I think your problem is in the Active Directory connection, you should assign a default group for users logged through that directory, check the configuration, there should be a "Default Membership Groups" field where you can set them. Better late than never.
