How can I compare fixVersion field with a distinct string in the universal field validator?

In the Jira Workflow Enhancer I can select various fields (system fields and custom fields) but the "fixVersion" field is missing. All attempts to do manually like {fixVersion} = ... do not work silently ( either never or always fail, depending on the "Expression must evaluate to:" field (true/false).

(using jira5.2.4 and workflow enhancer 2.0.4)

Is this field just not supported or am I missing something?
