JIRA restart fixed the issue

This has happened to us as well, about once a week. Sure, it can be fixed by a restart, but it shouldn't happen in the first place.

If this is repeating, could you please raise a support request with https://support.atlassian.com ?

Just raised a support request to Atlassian - GHS-5562, let's see what they can do to fix this.

I opened an issue and the response said

It looks like you've run into a known issue reported here:

GHS-5633
JRA-29386

To resolve this issue, please stop and then start the JIRA application.

We tried that and so far, so good.
