Existing users - Licensing for Scriptrunner

Raj Santhanam April 6, 2016

Our organization uses JIRA Core product version 6.4.12 for our Project management. We required the Script runner add-on and we acquired it through JIRA market place last year and have been using the same. This was free of cost when we installed it. Please find below the details.

 Version      :           3.0.14

Please note that it doesn't show any user tier information in the summary page.
Now we recently moved increased our user tier from 100 to 250 users. Will this impact our add-on licensing? Now that we see that Script runner has pricing associated should we obtain new license key from Script runner and match it with licensing period and user tier of our JIRA Core software?
Thanks
Raj

Hi Raj,

You should be able to continue to use ScriptRunner 3.0.14 together with JIRA version 6.4.12, in fact you could upgrade to 3.1.4 and it is still a free version.

Your license tier won't affect your ScriptRunner license (for version 3.0.14 or any free version - which is up to 3.1.4).

You will need to consider whether you want to buy ScriptRunner at some point in the future which would most likely be when you upgrade to JIRA Core (or Software) 7.x in the future.

Please note: The ScriptRunner Add-on licensing will match the HIGHEST user tier you choose in JIRA 7.x (i.e JIRA Core, Software OR Service Desk).

regards,

Mark.
