Documentation for OpenSearch Plugin

Nico July 11, 2013

Hello,

I need the documentation for the OpenSearch Plugin. Where can I register to access documentations on https://extranet.atlassian.com/login.action?

Basically, I need the OpenSearchDescriptor (search string) for this plugin, because I want to get the search results from Confluence as RSS/ATOM.

regards

Nicolai

Hi Nicolai,

There is no documentation for this plugin, since it was not originally intended for public use. Although the plugin does support returning Confluence search results as RSS or ATOM, it does not fully implement the OpenSearch specification.

In particular, the plugin does not serve a valid OpenSearch XML descriptor.

You can get search results from this plugin using the following URL:

http://${confluence-url}/plugins/servlet/opensearch?query=${search-query}&format=rss_2.0

The source code is here, in case you want to see the other options that are available:

Sorry about that. The repository was unintentionally restricted. I've now opened it up to the public.
