Custom Field values based on another custom field value

Jessa August 2, 2017

Hi,

I'm not sure if script runner is the only way to do this or if there is available plug-in that I just can't find. This is the scenarion:

Custom Field 1 (Select List (single choice)) values - 1st, 2nd

Custom Field 2 (Select List (single choice)) values - A,B,C,D,E

1. If custom field 1 = 1st, THEN custom field values are A, B, and C

2. If custom field 1 = 2nd, THEN custom field values are A, D, and E

Thanks,

Jessa

Hi Jessa,

It looks like you would want to use Behaviours to accomplish this. We post how to use Behaviours here in our documentation.

Specifically, you would want to use this example: https://scriptrunner.adaptavist.com/latest/jira/recipes/behaviours/setting-default-fields.html#_setting_defaults_for_selects_etc

Kind regards,

Katy

Thank you Katy. We simplified our workflow for now to use default JIRA behavior. But we might still need to use dependencies in the future.
