Confluence Numbered Headings: TOC links bug?

If two headings have the same name, clicking on the link for the second one in the Table of Contents goes to the first one.

This is is caused by the way Confluence generates id's for the headings. Confluence takes the page name and the heading name and combines them to create an id for the heading (for example: "Home-Heading1").

If you have two the same headings you will get duplicate id's and your browser will scroll to the first element with the id you clicked in the toc.

Thanks Tomas.

So it is nothing to do with the Numbered Headigns add-on that we installed?

And it's not likely to be fixed soon?

You are right, it has nothing to do with the plugin (you can confirm this yourself by trying it out without numbered headings). This has been in Confluence for quite some time and I don't think it will be resolved anytime soon.
