Confluence - JIRA issues macro

From the issue created in Confluence using the JIRA issues macro, how can I get the created issue to launch in a new tab or a new window?
Currently it launches in the current tab (new tab / window please)

You can always do "SHIFT + click" on the hyperlink.

When I do this, it simply creates a new Confluence page. :(

From the Create on the upper ribbon, the goal is to create a new issue in a new tab or a new window.

Ohh, you mean how do you get a new page to open in a new tab?

Exactly!  A new page (windows / tab) for the JIRA issue, outside of confluence

So the "Create" button on the top of Confluence is meant for creating new Confluence pages, not JIRA issues. I just want to make sure we are talking about the same thing. 

How are you currently trying to perform this operation?

I meant,  from within Confluence, create a new page (tab / window) for the JIRA issue

I'm afraid I don't really understand. Any screenshots would be helpful.
