Confbox add-on doesn't connect on Windows client

Bharadwaj Rajan February 18, 2016

Hello. We have an instance of Confluence that we're trying to connect using the ConfBox trial version and we can't connect: https://tpg.spd.analog.com/confluence. There's no documentation for this either and I'm wondering if there's anyone who can help us out.

The problem is with the client. Confbox version 1.3 (the latest) will not take anything with a "/path" in the URL.

Hello Alexander,

thank you for your remark. We also released new ConfBox Client version 1.3.1, which is fixing this path problem. Please try to re-install your Client. If you have any other questions or issues, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Best,
Daniela

The new ConfBox client does accept a "/path", and it does seem to connect. The problem now is after it connects nothing happens and hovering over the tray icon yields "incorrect configuration". I re-entered everything in the configuration and selected a different sync folder, but I get the same result.

Hello Alexander,

I would just like to confirm - you enter the correct connection parameters in the config window, then you press ok button and the config window closes with no errors.

After this, actually nothing should happen, only the tray icon shall change status from red (incorrect configuration) to orange (connected). This may, however, tak up to a minute. If the icon does not change color to orange in 5 minutes or so, then there might be an issue.

Thank you for additional information.

Regards

Pavel

It still says "incorrect configuration". What might the issue be?

In that case, we need more information:

  • version of Windows the client runs on
  • version of Confluence you are using
  • version of ConfBox plugin installed in your Confluence (likely 1.1)
  • whether you are using a proxy
  • it would be great if you could provide us with the client error log - sync_folder/.confbox/log/error.log - you can send this to pavel.sindelar@morosystems.cz

Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience.

Hello Bharadwaj,

could you please confirm that https://tpg.spd.analog.com/confluence is the URL on which your Confluence is deployed?

If this is the case, the cause of your issue would be the fact that current ConfBox client is not able to connect to the Confluence that is not deployed to the root context.

New version of ConfBox client that will be able to connect to the Confluence deployed in arbitrary path will be released in two or three weeks.

If you wish to test current ConfBox client, you may do so against Confluence deployed to the root context.

Sorry for the inconvenience. If you have any other questions, feel free to contact us.

Best Regards

Hi Bharad,

yes, if the new version isn't out soon enough to give you enough time to experiment, we will provide you new evaluation license.

Hi Pavel,

Yes our confluence is deployed at https://tpg.spd.analog.com/confluence. We have the evaluation license right now that our team is trying but by the time the new version is out, our license may be expired. Will you be providing us with a new trial license after the new release? Thanks,

Bharad
