Component Picker - Required not working

I'm using https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1217020/component-picker.

I have an Issue Field configuration where I added one Component Picker custom field, that is configured as Required.

The problem is that the field is not behaving as required in the screen.

I have already checked the configuration is right (I added other custom fields, set them as required and they worked).

So my question is: Anyone using this plugin has ever experienced this problem? Could it be a bug in the plugin?

Yes, I have the same issue, and it's annoying.

I use another plugin to manage the Required behavior, so I accused this other plugin to not manage correctly the type of field introduced by "Component Picker". But your comment now makes me feel that it's "Component Picker" that is not in conformance with JIRA native functionalities. Is that true?
