Can you disable the web browser gesture for "Go Back"?

When scrolling horizontal widgets (e.g. a Story Map) it's very easy to arrive to left end and further swyping causes the browser to go back in history (Chrome and Safari).

Can you disable this gesture?

Other products, such as Aha! did this and improved the usage dramatically.

Thanks,

Pan

It's a very bad idea - it is possible to embed the code in pages, but browsers have to respect it, and increasingly, they do not, because users complain about it.
