Can we define the build number for the marketplace in the plugin file?

When updating our plugins in the marketplace, we need to manually set the build number after uploading the file.

We would like to avoid this manual and error-prone task, so is there a way to read the build number from the plugin file? The goal is to have the build number created automatically during build.
