After running these tasks I noticed open sshd processes left running on my remote machine.

Wonder if anyone else is experiencing the same issue?
This looks like a bug, the SSH sessions are not closed. The code is very simple - you can give a shot at fixing it at https://bitbucket.org/i386/bamboo-scp-plugin and submit a pull request for the author.

I will try 2nd alternative (already configured) and watch out if the hanging sessions go away...

I tried the 2nd alternative from above but still have 2 open sshd processes left behind for every SCP or SSH task that runs.

Same for me. I'm just wondering if there is solution for this or if I have to figure this out by myself ;)
