Automatic Activity Type

Koen Vandormael November 7, 2013

Hi,

Is is possible to set the activity type automatically for work logs without this value.

We use a strict mapping between Issue Type and Issue Priority to determine the correct activity type. But now we have to do this manually for all the work logs at the end of the month.

Is it possible to do this with ictime? Or maybe with a database script? If so, can you point us in the right direction?

Best Regards,

Koen

Hi Koen,

ictime does not support any automatic business logic to assign activity types based on defined criteria, this is always a manual user choice. The only thing you can do is limit available activity types on a per-project base (see https://interconcept.atlassian.net/wiki/display/ICTIME/Project+Activity+Types).

The activity type of a work log can be changed from My Timesheet or any report (provided you have respective permissions), but there is no option to make batch changes for work logs, you would need to do it one by one via editing the work logs.

If you need to set or change activity types for multiple entries based on defined criteria, you would need to do it in the database. The activity type ID for a work log can be found in ACTIVITY_TYPE_ID as part of AO_9B23C2_TIME_ENTRY. Please have a look at the database and ask if there are further questions regarding the structure.

Best regards

Tobias
