Assign Group of Sub-task to a specific Task

Benny September 5, 2018

Is there a way to to automatically add a group of sub-task to a task when it is created. The sub-task do not have to be assigned to an individual just created.

Example: The Task is created by the user and the sub-task are automatically assigned

Task = Book

  • Sub-task = Typeset
  • Sub-task = Edit
  • Sub-task = Send to Printer

Hi @Benny,

You can automatically create group of sub-tasks when issue is created. But this feature doesn't come out-of-box.

There are lots of "create subtask" post-functions that comes via some add-ons on marketplace such as Script Runner, Automation, JMWE etc.

Please take a look at the marketplace.

I have Script Runner, but I cannot find a example of how to create a sub-task when a task that has an issue type of Book is created.

  • Go to the related workflow and edit
  • Find Create transition and click to post-functions
  • Add a new post-function
  • Select Script post-functions than "Create Subtask"
  • Add a condition by using examples (issue type of Book)
  • Finalize the configuration.

Hope this helps.
