Is there a way to set triggers where a user can scan a bar code, and it will prompt to edit the objects location. For example we have a bin with 25 keyboards in stock. We scan the bar code to "check out" that keyboard, it then decreases the inventory by 1 leaving 24, and then prompts for the new location and changes the status from "In-Stock" to "Deployed"

Insight as such does not have any built in support for bar code scanning. You could get in contact with Right Star who either recently has released or is about to release a bar code scanner for Insight for more information.  Contact them at http://www.rightstar.com/

The automation that is supported in Insight is described at https://documentation.riada.se/insight/latest/insight-manager-s-guide/insight-automation and that is listening on event related to the Insight objects, or executed on scheduled events.
