Over the last few years, Beecom has invested heavily in Suite Utilities for JIRA (JSU) to improve and expand JIRA Software workflows. After careful consideration the team has decided to commercialise their app for Server customers, starting with JSU 2.0.

The new JSU 2.0 release introduces the ability to connect the workflows of different teams, powerful post functions, like bulk copy or triggering transitions on linked issues, and improved customer support. Read the full details of the release here. Commercialization allows Beecom to make continued investments in these areas, and ensure users get the most out of their application.

If you’d rather stick to JSU 1.5.4, you can still use it free of charge.

I presume the free version won't be updated for future JIRA releases, correct?

@Gosia Kowalska,

I'm trying to buy a license and it asks me to provide JIRA Core license details:

https://www.atlassian.com/purchase/addon/com.googlecode.jira-suite-utilities

Can the add-on be bought if we have only JIRA Software licenses?

When providing JIRA Software SEN I get the following error:

The SEN you entered returned an invalid license.

@Serhii Riabovil

I don't know unfortunately. Can you please reach out to the vendor directly?

Answer from vendor:

We know that is a current issue and have an open ticket at Atlassian waiting to be fixed. To get your license please select your license user tier manually instead of the currently not working way with combining directly with the SEN-Nr. of your JIRA instance. JSU works perfectly fine with JIRA Software. Just the Atlassian Purchase Helper has a problem.

Still a little confused on how JIRA Suite Utilities works. We purchased JIRA Server a few years when JSU was part of JIRA at no charge. Since then we have done periodic updates. Recently we upgraded to version 7.12.3 and were running into issues. It was then that we realized that the JSU plugin was missing. We installed the version compatible (2.8.0) with JIRA 7.12.3 and generated an evaluation license.

I have noticed the version will switch back to version 1.5.4. I am wondering if it will switch to this version by default when pasting an evaluation license. Did I purchase the license for no reason? We were fine with the features of the free version and did not require the additional features that came with 2.0.0 and beyond.

The free version only works for older versions of Jira.  If you've upgraded to a version that needs the paid version, you'll either need to pay for it or stop using it (and look at alternatives)
