How do I truncate form field output (or display)?

I am using TableView with several fields.  One field is a lengthy description making it wrap  creating significant row height.  Is there a way to display limited characters (e.g. 30)? If so, can the remaining detail be viewed when "hovering" over the text?

You can use truncWithExpand(0) function. When you use this function on text field or textarea field you loss possibility to edit text inline.

Yes, that is because ConfiForms recognizes this as an expression and we only support fields (not expressions) to be edited inline (same for dialog modes - expressions containing fields are not presented to be edited, only fields).
