minimum user level when puchasing addins for DataCenter

We are looking to purchase Jira Data Center.  1-500 users.

We will only be using about 200 users.

When looking at the datacenter addins, there is a user level of 250 that is available.

Will this work with datacenter, or do we have to buy the full 500 user level version?

It is the Atlassian Marketplace policy for any app to match the highest Jira user tier in the system, no matter how many users actually use the app. Please refer to the text below that can be found under the Pricing tab of any app on the Marketplace:

  App licensing has to match your Jira license.  If you have Data Center at 500 you will have to purchase an app license at 500.  In the past we had service desk at unlimited licensing but contacted support to have them drop it to match our server license so our apps would all match.  I would suggest seeing if you can get your 500 license limited to 250 by submitting a support ticket here: https://support.atlassian.com/contact/  Then submit it under Billing, Payments and pricing.
