how to send an alert email based on deadline for an issue/subtask ?

hey guys.... i need to create an issue/subtask....and i need to feed a deadline date in that. as i m moving towards deadline i should get some alerts. n when dead line is over i should get a mail that ur task was not complted

Start with a filter that says something like "open and due date < 1d" (assuming you use the "due date" field to represent your deadline - if not, then it'll be a custom date or date/time field you need to work with).

You can then use that filter in gadgets, and for an alert email, subscribe to it.

A more complex solution might be jelly escalation, but you need to get the filter right first...
