how do I configure zephyr to use a custom defect type

We have a custom issue type for defects.

In Zephyr test executions If I click the Create Defect button for a test step, it opens the new issue type screen but the issue type is set to story instead of Bug - I assume this is because we are not using the standard defect issue type.

How do I tell Zephyr to use the custom type instead?

I would like an answer to this too. Currently, when clicking on Create defect, we get a list of all item types in our instance. I want the Defect item type (of type Sub-Task) to show up there.
