getting worklog owner

Markus January 9, 2019

Hello,

is it possible to somehow extract the worklog owner and work with it in automation for jira?

The goal is to create a rule on the "worklog updated" event, to send a notification to the worklog owner. Unfortunately this isn't possible with the JIRA notification system.

Thank you

The worklog updated event provides access to both the original worklog author and the worklog update author via smart values - {{worklog.author.x}} and {{worklog.updateAuthor.x}}.  These have the typical user fields available: name, displayName, emailAddress etc.  So you should be able to reference those in the email action.

Hallo there,

Use Case:: Adding the timespent as X minutes and then setting the Worklog Authtor to Creator. As of now timespent is added by the Initiatior of the rule. How can I override it with Creator ? Using the smart values mentioned above I get the "Error while parsing additional fields. Not valid JSON."

Any help/ pointers will be greatly appreciated. :)

Thanks,

That would be lovely. A dictionary of possible fields we can access within Automation.
