Hi @Admin

This is Dhiren from Team Exalate.

I would recommend you creating an integration and sync issues between multiple Jira instances. If you are open to use a 3rd Party Integration tool for this, then I would like to introduce you to Exalate.

Exalate, provides a fully bi-directional synchronization between Jira(Cloud,Server,Data Center) and Jira(Cloud,Server,Data Center) among other ITSM systems that is fully customizable. It is easy to set up and the entire customization can be configured using a no-code interface. It also provides a Groovy based scripting engine for limitless customizability.

You can even integrate between Jira Software, Jira Service Management (Service Desk) and sync issues inside projects back and forth to achieve your integration requirements.

Exalate provides a flexible synchronization engine such that issues are automatically and securely synced - between multiple Jira's - wherever hosted. Benefit from a unified view and integrated workflow!

Use cases supported:

  • Service Desk to Service Desk
  • Service Desk to Software
  • Agile Board Cooperation
  • Ticket Tunnels
  • Information Consolidation
  • Centralized Master Instance
  • Migration
  • Support and development

If you would like to see a customized demo of the product in action, feel free to book a slot with us.

Thanks
Dhiren

Hi @Admin

can you share some more details about your requirements? Is this a one time requirement for you right now to transfer some comments to the other instance?

Is instance #1 a clone of instance #2? Or how did the other 5 comments get transferred?

As @Oliwia Poświat _Deviniti_ mentioned, you can use issue sync apps to synchronize issues alongside with their comments. I'm also working for a team behind an issue sync app, Backbone Issue Sync. We have a feature which is able to automatically pair existing issues, so that afterwards the missing comments could be synchronized. This might be able to help you in your use case.

Cheers,
Matthias.

@Admin hi there! Perhaps, you can achieve this by connecting the instances. In this way, you'll transfer the data (comments) you need from one instance to another. If connected (bi-directionally), you can also sync the two instances. And this will keep them updated in real-time.

Or, maybe you mean migration from one Jira to another? Anyway, in both scenarios, there are plenty of options to choose from in the marketplace. I'd like to propose looking at one of those options if you decide to try a 3rd party solution. ZigiOps is a no-code integration tool that can connect your Jira instances (bi-directionally) and enable the transfer of data - the transfer of comments is just one of the options. The tool can be customized to fit various use cases and comes with advanced mapping functionalities. It can also be used for migrations - with no limitations to the information transferred. Feel free to look at it and if you think it would be useful, you can always book a meeting to see it in action.

Regards, Diana (ZigiWave team)

Hello @Admin

It's Oliwia from Deviniti - the vendor of the Issue Sync - Synchronization for Jira app.

If you need to synchronize two projects either on the same or separate Jira instances, and you are open to use a plugin, you could set up a connection in our app which, based on selected triggers and JQL conditions, will automatically synchronize all new tickets including comments.

I encourage you to start a free trial and try it yourself. Hopefully, your teams will find it useful!

Cheers,
Oliwia
