Why can't JIRA create a Timesheet/tempo log when I move a Story/Task/Subtask to Done?

We use JIRA as our primarily issue tracking product. Jira have a time component which is used various reporting including burndown, etc. Is there some setting/s which allows JIRA to spit out Time component to Tempo or any timesheet integration software when a issue is marked as Done. Would be great

1. if Jira admin gets access to choose at what level to record the Time i.e. Story or Subtask level.

2. User gets notified to edit the time component when marking a Issue as Done.

Goal is to reduce admin time on logging timesheet and allow business to take informed decision on costing.

Hey @Aalok Singh

Currently and depending on your settings, you can permit who can log time based on the permission scheme. If you're using tempo it follows the permission scheme as well. Therefore alerting the user to edit the time estimate field or other time fields based on statuses can be done with Validators and even with a screen on the workflow transition.
