Why Bitvoodoo Registration Plugin is required if there are no other bitvoodoo plugin installed

DES Tools February 1, 2019

In our confluence instance there is only one bitvoodoo plugin installed -

  • bitvoodoo Registration Plugin
    • Version:1.1.3
    • Vendor:bitvoodoo ag
    • Add-on key:ch.bitvoodoo.confluence.plugins.registration

Nobody knows why it is there and for what it is required.

Can anyone confirm the same and will it be safe to remove it from confluence.

Thanks

Hi @DES Tools

Nick here from bitvoodoo. :)

bitvoodoo Registration for Confluence is only needed if you are using one or more of our free apps. It is used to register our free apps, which is required before using them.

Following free bitvoodoo apps require registration:

  • Language Macros for Confluence
  • External Links for Confluence
  • SBB Widgets for Confluence
  • Macro Documentation for Confluence

If none of the listed apps are installed, you can uninstall bitvoodoo Registration for Confluence without any worries.

Cheers

Thanks very much Nick

We are not using any of the above listed add-on, so I guess we are good to remove the registration plugin.

Hi @Sloan N_ B_

We're using "Navitabs Plugin" & "Viewtracker Plugin". Still "bitvoodoo Registration for Confluence" is needed or this can be un-installed ??

Hi Babu R

Things have changed a little bit. Even our free apps don't need Registration anymore.

So, in general, when using versions of our apps released in the last 1.5 years you can uninstall it safely.

Cheers
Niklas
