When using {{approval.addedApprovers}}, how do I get the display name for the user?

When I print the output of {{approval.addedApprovers}} I get the the userId for the user

Example:

abc123, def456, ghi789

 However, when I do the following {{approval.addedApprovers.displayName}} nothing is resolved.  The documentation indicates approval.addedApprovers should return a user object, but that does not appear to be the case.

How do I get the display name for the added approver?
