What's the directive key/value for setting comment level security for groups in email body/subject

Simon Gao January 8, 2013

Hi,

I want to set directive key/value in email body/subject to enable comment level security for groups for the email to be added to an issue. Where can I find the information about such key /value as well as an example?

I am running JIRA with latest JEMH.

Another question, do I need to first enable issue level security?

Thanks,

Simon

Hi Simon, if you check the CommentSecurity page the example JEMH configuration shows how you can define a default comment security level. Its up to you then whether or not to allow Directives to override that.

The comment security setting is currently Profile wide, so you would need a dedicated mailbox to be assocaited with that Profile if you did not want 'all' comments to be treated this way. Ideally, this would be done at a project mapping level, please raise a feature request for this if it would make your configuration simpler. Issues currently @ https://studio.plugins.atlassian.com/browse/JEMH (due to move real soon to OnDemand)

Thanks Andy.

One more question. Is it possible to use a dedicated email for seting comment level security.

For example, email sent "admin-comment"@corp.com" will automatically set the incoming comment security level to Administrators?

It's cumbersome and error-prone to use the directive because admin users must respond to lots of emails and often in a hurry.

Thanks,

Simon

You need the viewable=role directive, where role would be Users/Developers/Administrators by default.

Answer to the second part, no, IssueSecurity is separate to comment security.

I've just created a How Do I page on the wiki https://studio.plugins.atlassian.com/wiki/display/JEMH/Use+CommentSecurity (due to shift to OnDemand soon)

There is also https://studio.plugins.atlassian.com/wiki/display/JEMH/Use+IssueSecurity
