What happens to zephyr tickets and test cycles when discontinue the zephyr plug-in?

Katy Watson May 12, 2020

We are looking at discontinuing the Zephyr for Jira plugin and want to understand what will happen to the existing test and test cycles within Jira.

will we loose access to these? or will the remain in the system and be simply unusable?

Hi @Katy Watson ,

If you uninstall the plugin, all the issue type test will be treated as JIRA's standard issue type. It will loose the functionality of retaining the Zephyr data such as test step, data and expected results as test level. They cycle and execution details will also not be accessible. You can export the tests with test step and execution details from search test execution page and refer them in the future.

If you want to check the behavior, you can always disable the plugin momentarily. It will not result in any kind of data lose, the behavior will be same as what will happen once you uninstall the plugin.

Regards,

Bibek
