Updating multiple pages at once (Redirection plugin)

Massimo Arrigoni June 19, 2015

With this plugin, do we need to enter the redirect URL page by page, or is there a UI or an import feature to allow bulk updates? We have several hundred pages that we need to redirect to a new Help Desk application.

Confluence Command Line Interface (CLI) has a modifyPage action where it is easy to add content to the beginning (or end) of a page. Use with one of the run actions like runFromPageList to hit all the pages you want.

The redirect URL will be different for each page. How would that work?

You must have a mapping some where (page title to redirection target). If it is in a database, runFromSql might work for you. Other choices are using the run action with a file where each line defines the mapping or just scripting the modifyPage action with the script driving the mapping in some way.

Thanks Bob. We will take a look at runFromSql then. Thanks for taking the time to reply.
