TM4J - importing test cases from Testlink with ISO8859-4 symbols

Eimantas Ramunis April 7, 2020

Hello, Smartbear team (who has recently purchased TM4J) has redirected me to this community.

I've encountered a problem when importing test cases from TestLink into TM4J. Our test cases have ISO8859-4 symbols (ie. ąčęėįšųū) and those symbols are being converted into random symbols uppon import (the exported XML file has all the correct symbols without any errors).

For example:

word "retą" is imported as "retĆ„ā€¦". All of the words with symbols mentioned above have this problem.

What should we do to correctly import our test cases without the need of manual correction for each TC?

Hi @hanna_k , @Eimantas Ramunis

You can try it with the TestFLO app. It has a dedicated importer from Testlink and supports the characters you mentioned. You can also import your test cases via CSV file importer.

Hi,

We have the same problem with scandic letters (ä, ö, å). We are importing testcases from Zephyr to TM4J. Exported and converted XML file shows ok but after importing XML file to TM4J, the scandic letters are shown as random symbols.

We are evaluating if TM4J would be suitable for our company but this is a major issue for us. We have large ammount of test cases to import from Zephyr to TM4J.

Is there a solution for this?
