I have a lot of problems with tickets that are in a closed status but resolution is not set.
The users are moving tickets to a different issue type and at the same time from open to closed status, bypassing the screen to set resolution. Is there a way to make resolution mandatory on move as well? Or auto set if empty?

This should not really be a standard process, moving issue types should be an exception.
Move issue does not have any option for post-functions, as it's not part of the workflow. The best you can do is to use one of the scripting apps to catch "issue moved" events in a listener, check what has changed on them and set a resolution if necessary.
