ScriptRunner Nested Query

Via ScriptRunner, we currently utilize the following query to return story-level items whose parent Epic has a specific set custom field value:

issueFunction in issuesInEpics("\"SAFe Epic Name\" ~ \"534 : TEST - ATI Engage AMS\"")

We'd like to alter this query to show both stories that meet the criteria as well as the subtasks underneath these stories. I'm thinking this would need to be in the form of an additional OR statement to the above query in order to show the results we are used to getting PLUS sub-tasks of the stories that meet the criteria. Here's my attempt at the query:

issueFunction in issuesInEpics("\"SAFe Epic Name\" ~ \"534 : TEST - ATI Engage AMS\"") OR issueFunction in subtasksOf('issueFunction in issuesInEpics("\"SAFe Epic Name\" ~ \"534 : TEST - ATI Engage AMS\"")')

There appears to be a syntax error somewhere in this proposed query. Any advice on how to tweak the query to get the desired results is much appreciated!

It's probably just an issue with escaping quotes.

Try this:

issueFunction in issuesInEpics("\"SAFe Epic Name\" ~ \"534 : TEST - ATI Engage AMS\"") OR
issueFunction in subtasksOf('issueFunction in issuesInEpics(\"\\\"SAFe Epic Name\\\" ~ \\\"534 : TEST - ATI Engage AMS\\\"\")')

This worked flawlessly, thank you!!
