Quarterly Recap: New cloud apps in the Atlassian Marketplace

As mentioned in my post at the start of the year, we’re really encouraged by the impressive growth in cloud app listings to the Marketplace. The first quarter of 2020 was no different. In fact, this first quarter of 2020 proved to be a big quarter for Marketplace apps. There were 117 new cloud apps alone for this quarter, which is more than 2 apps every business day!

We tend to see a lot of our vendor partners launching updated or new versions of apps at our annual Summit. This year’s remote Summit was no different. If you haven’t already, I highly encourage you to browse the virtual expo hall to see what’s new in the Atlassian Marketplace.

With so many new apps in the last few months, it’s hard to mention them all. However, I wanted to share a few standouts and why customers may be eager to give these new apps a try.

Confluence

TechTime Google Maps Embedding Macro   Screen Shot 2020-04-17 at 11.06.31 AM.png

The team behind this app recently launched a cloud version of their server app.  The idea behind the macro is to embed the content from Google Maps inside your Confluence page without enabling HTML or IFRAME macros. Then you use CSS to style the resulting IFRAME anyway you want.

Translator for Confluence Screen Shot 2020-04-17 at 11.06.20 AM.png

If you work with teams who speak different languages, this app is one not to be overlooked. This app can help with the process of communicating internally by making it easier to translate your pages with a click of a button. The end-user experience is very simple to use; thanks to the overview of all translated pages you have a quick overview of the translated pages.

SharePoint Connector for Confluence  Screen Shot 2020-04-17 at 11.06.31 AM.png

This server app that is now available for cloud allows teams to instantly share and embed SharePoint documents as a link or as preview in Confluence to help teams stop switching between systems. Improve the quality of the content while having one single source of truth by using lists, document libraries and documents from SharePoint Online directly in Confluence.

Microsoft OneDrive for Business (Beta) Screen Shot 2020-04-17 at 11.06.20 AM.png

A brand new app (and still in beta), this cloud app will be useful for any business that also uses Microsoft’s OneDrive service. This official integration is built and maintained by Atlassian and is free for anyone with a OneDrive for Business license. Now it’ll be easier to embed and view Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files from your OneDrive account directly in Confluence pages!

HTML for Confluence   Screen Shot 2020-04-17 at 11.06.31 AM.png

With this new cloud version of Appfire’s popular server app, users can safely add and display HTML, XML, and Javascript on their Confluence pages. Admins can set up profiles so users can safely and easily pull in HTML from external sites like Bitbucket, GitHub, GitLab, and more. Users can get the content they need, while only admins see user authentication details.

Team Decision for Confluence Screen Shot 2020-04-17 at 11.06.20 AM.png

This brand new cloud app can help your team make better decisions together! The app includes voting tools such as proposal, check, poll, dot vote, score poll, time poll, and ranked choice to enable your team to have inclusive discussions and make decisions all on your Confluence page.

Viewtracker - Analytics for Confluence  Screen Shot 2020-04-17 at 11.06.31 AM.png

This new cloud version of the popular server app allows users to gain insights into how their Confluence content is performing. Compare the performance of content over time and display statistics to understand what content is getting views. Viewtracker can help you filter and drill down into the activity of your users at different time ranges.

User Management by Toros  Screen Shot 2020-04-17 at 11.06.20 AM.png

This new cloud app has not been out very long but it already has several raving reviews. This app is an admin’s dream as it performs bulk operations in Jira like mass user deactivation and group assignment. This app can help you keep track of inactive users and delete them all easily.

Cost Tracker for Tempo Timesheets  Screen Shot 2020-04-17 at 11.06.20 AM.png

This new cloud addition from the makers behind the popular Tempo Timesheets apps can help users easily view a project’s financial picture at a glance. It works between Jira and Tempo Timesheets to give users insights on project costs and allows the user to set a budget to ensure that the team's efforts are carried out efficiently with regards to cost in addition to time.

Stack Overflow for Teams + Jira Screen Shot 2020-04-17 at 11.06.20 AM.png

This new cloud app from Stack Overflow allows users to seamlessly view related questions and answers to your task at hand in Jira while keeping knowledge stored within Stack Overflow for Teams. Get content previews in Jira, and embedded Jira tickets in Stack Overflow, keeping context switching at bay. Best part is this integration is free for Business and Enterprise users of Stack Overflow!

Clone Epic Template for Jira Screen Shot 2020-04-17 at 11.06.20 AM.png

A free cloud app, Clone Epic Template for Jira allows users to clone an epic along with its stories, sub-tasks, and checklists. You can also set up a ‘template’ epic which contains a backlog of tasks/subtasks in a defined order. This app allows you to create instantly a new version of the epic complete with all its stories and subtasks.

Smart Attachments for Jira 📁🤩👍  Screen Shot 2020-04-17 at 11.06.31 AM.png

The Smart Attachments app for Jira Cloud lets you tag documents with labels and use them for better file searchability in Jira issues. Now you can instantly find the required document in a blink of an eye.

Honorable mention

Loom for Jira

While not an app you’ll find in the Atlassian Marketplace, this Chrome extension for Loom lets users easily attach a recorded video or screen flow to a Jira or Jira Service Desk issue. Bugs or tech problems can be hard to explain and are often easier to show the exact problem to customer support. Loom can help speed up that process.

Thanks for this great article! It's always nice to see what new apps have been released, and how they might help improve our Cloud Instances.

We also released Workflows for Confluence this quarter and wanted to know how we could get added?

@Tom _Automation Consultants_ Your app was released in April which means it was never in the running for this last quarter roundup that ended in March. Since your app is new for this quarter it will be on the list for consideration for the next roundup.
